An excellent coastal hedge (literally on the coast) which will grow in poor sandy soils and can reach a height of 2.5 metres. The sea green glossy leaves are silver underneath. White flowers in the autumn are not conspicuous. It absolutely requires free draining soil. Space plants at 400 to 500mm centres.
