Product Description

Evergreen long lived plant which is poisonous to most livestock but highly valued for its longevity and its mystical connection with sacred places. It occurs frequently in Irish placenames such as Youghal (Eo Choill..the yew wood). It makes a dense formal hedge which tolerates clipping and is often used as a backdrop for herbacaeous borders. It requires good soil with excellent drainage. Plant at 2 plants per metre. (Gaeilge : Iur/ Eo as in Youghal (Eochoill or Yew wood).
