Strawberry – Elegance (Bare Root)

Bred and selected at East Malling Research Station in the U.K. the berry is named after its elegant bright and glossy berries which have a sweet strawberry flavour and a pleasant juicy texture. it crops over a long period and has excellent disease resistance. Strawberries can be grown in containers in a rich multi purpose compost or in the open ground. Plant 30 cm apart in weed free rich well drained fertile ground. Mulch in winter with organic matter and place straw or plastic under the developing trusses in May. Strawberries rank very highly(1540) in the ORAC or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, a measure of the total anti oxidant power of foods developed by the United States Department of Agriculture .
